Thirty-seven people participated in the social media promotion, which aimed to introduce the company’s collision insurance to the local insurance market. The contest called for Cayman motorists to submit photos of their damaged vehicles to the ‘Saxon Fix My Ride website’, along with a brief outline of why Saxon should fix their vehicles. Contestants requested their friends to vote for them and shared their photos through a variety of social media platforms. At the conclusion of the contest there were a total of 7000 “likes’ and over 11,000 unique visitors to the promotion website.
Five winners have been named, for securing the highest number of Facebook likes for photos depicting damage to their vehicles in the ‘Saxon Fix My Ride’ contest, Jessie Vargas (923); Dan Tarronas (751); Orville Hutchinson (726); Andrew Petts (662) and Robert De Vera (522). Each received $1,000 from Saxon towards car repairs at one of the company’s Direct Repair automotive shops. Six other contestants received vouchers towards headlight restoration, rust checks and other auto services.
“Using social media and the ‘Saxon Fix My Ride’ promotion to engage our customers was an exciting and effective way to introduce our new collision insurance product to market and we were delighted with the overwhelming response it brought to our own social media pages,” stated Saxon CEO Brian Williams.
“We have been first to market with collision insurance as an upgrade to the standard Third Party insurance policy, which is the minimum mandated by law, and we are thrilled that Cayman drivers are reacting so positively to the collision product to better protect themselves and their investment,” he added.
